Locating Peace in the Rebound: Solitary Sensory Time at Altitude

September 3, 2025

Wednesday mornings are typically a (to be) tug-of-war in a house. On one hand where your son is full of energy as soon as he wakes, on another, your daughter needs the slowest, softest start anyone can imagine. You look out to that middle gap between the necessary high energy and the desire to take it easy, leading too frequently at a loss of thoughts as to where to go that does excite them both.

Suddenly you hear about Sensory Time at Altitude Trampoline Park, in Delmar, developed with children in mind capable of playing in a stricter and secluded environment. No high volume noise. No lights bashing. A softer touch, low lights, and a less-stimulating environment.

Once you get here, you immediately feel a difference. The often loud, high-energy playlist was not playing--just a low volume of trampolines beneath tiny feet. It was the dimming of the lights and the result was this kind of peaceful low light in the park. In place of anarchy, there was order.

Your son bounces onto the closest trampoline as his giggles spread through the area as he went from one court to another. The thing is even your daughter slowly puts forth one step at a time, and then,… she smiles. A broad, self-assured expression that you would not witness too often in a long time.

A Space Promising to Meet the Expectations

Different kids enjoy the same space and are happy side by side for hours together. You will see kids bouncing in the foam pit, wrecking their way through an endless energy, while others poised deliberately stepping across the Log Roll. Nobody has a reason to hurry, while  nobody is there to tell kids what to do and what not to do. They feel liberated.

It would even occur to you at that moment - Sensory Time is not about less. It involves making a room where kids do more of what they feel good in. And as a parent, that is the one thing you want isn’t it? To watch your children really flourish and excel in a way that is right to them.

Bonus: Sweet Treats to Cherish for Long

It is time to reward yourself and your kids. With cherry slurping down the throat like a maniac, and blue raspberry being sipped, the end of the day became closer and closer. It is the best little tradition to end on a high note.

As you are sliding out, you also realize something, you feel less stressed as well. There is this certain feeling of relief that makes you drop your own shoulders as you see your kids having fun without any stress.

The Lingering Effect of Wednesdays

Once you reach home, both your kids are smiling and calm - not often uttering too many words in the same sentence. You become aware that this was not an outing. It was something like the reset button, a way to begin the middle of the week with connection, calm and joy.

Altitude Delmar should now be marked on your calendar every Wednesday, between 10am and 12pm, to come to the Sensory Time Event. It turns out to be the favorite form of flying with family, gently, joyfully and in your own special way. Whether your family is full of sophisticated children or high-energy kinetic kids looking to get out some energy, we invite you to check out the Sensory Time to unlock your senses and that of your kids too.
